As if the Hunter Biden revelations showing that Joe Biden and his family have been selling out the United States to line their pockets were not bad enough for the Democrat presidential candidate, now the Trump administration has reported third quarter GDP growth of a record 33.1 percent!
President Trump's policies of standing up to China, keeping the tax/regulatory boot off the neck of business and industry, and encouraging governors to open up their economies, have paid off big-time. This is the kind of sudden, dramatic economic improvement that a competent Obama administration could have had following the 2008 economic collapse. Could have had IF their economic policies were not so misguided.
Keep in mind, this dramatic growth came despite states such as California, New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Illinois hamstringing their economies with continued draconian lockdown policies. Additionally, many European countries have had far more strict lockdowns, mask mandates and social distancing, yet their economic numbers are horrible in comparison. That demonstrates the folly of focusing on eliminating the virus as a way to bring back the economy, which is what Biden advocates.
Meanwhile, Sleepy Joe promises to increase taxes, and his attempts to badmouth the Trump economy are falling short. The Democrats seem utterly obsessed with hammering Trump over Coronavirus. The notion that Biden would have done a better job protecting Americans against the virus had he been in the Oval Office is laughable considering Biden opposed banning flights from China way back in January.
The Democrats are putting all of their eggs in the COVID basket, and it will come back to haunt them big-time.
The ridiculous polls showing, for example, Biden leading Trump by 10 points in Michigan are obviously way off. Would Biden and former president Barack Obama be making a campaign stop in the Detroit area this weekend if they thought Michigan was in the bag? It turns out absentee ballots are actually breaking slightly in Trump's favor -- the exact opposite of what the "experts" have been predicting would happen.
A sterling example of how awful polls can be took place right here in Michigan in March 2016. A frequently wrong pollster named Steve Mitchell of EPIC/MRA gave Hillary Clinton a 27-point lead over Bernie Sanders in the Michigan Democrat primary. Guess what? Sanders won! Could Mitchell have been more wrong?
One last point: There is solid evidence that Trump's support among Hispanics and blacks is far greater than it was in 2016. If that's the case, the Democrats are in serious trouble.
Just a few more days, and the speculation will end. It can't come soon enough.
