The problem with going along with progressives is that they will burn you without the slightest warning or remorse.
The NFL pissed off its core audience by tolerating this national anthem nonsense and people stayed home in droves. Because professional football is above all else a business enterprise, it was inevitable that the organization and team owners would at some point have to yield to their customers' desires.
However, having tolerated this nonsense, the NFL is also going to piss off its ill-behaved fellow travelers, who are up in arms over being deprived of their (free) platform for social activism.
Let's face it: Progressives are parasites that frequently kill the host. Need another example? Try ESPN. What should have been a straight-up sports network decided that it was really about social commentary with occasional references to games. When its activist reporters crossed the line, they repeatedly cut them slack, which - spoiler alert - caused the reporters to become even more political and divisive.
This cost ESPN viewers and therefore revenue. Finally, someone with a financial interest put their foot down. So now the progressives are demanding vengeance.
Just like the NFL, ESPN has managed to piss everyone off.
The lesson here is twofold.
1. Know your audience and cater only to them.
2. Never, ever try to come to terms with progressives.
You know who looks good in all of this?
Yep. President Trump.
And since you asked: no, I'm not tired of all the winning.
