I've been extremely remiss in posting to the Posse, but I offer extenuating circumstances: A lengthy and exhausting business trip and now an ice storm that has kept me without power since the pre-dawn hours of yesterday - with no end in sight.
I was able to procure a generator - hence my logging in today.
While the Big Ten Championship Game is now officially old news, I was fairly accurate in my prediction - though I picked a 14 point spread instead of the actual ten. Either way, looking back my vision of the season for both Big Ten teams in Michigan is eerily prescient.
True, I undersold the Spartans, but given the quarterback situation, 10 wins was a reasonable demand. I correctly picked out Connor Cook for great things in early September and here he is, MVP for the conference title game.
I was incorrect on my game-by-game analysis of the Skunk Bears, but 7-5 is where they ended up (arguably it should be 6-6 since the last-second field goal against Northwestern should not have counted). Still, I'll take it.
What with keeping the generator going and waiting for Big Government Utility to come and fix the power lines, blogging will be light. According to the latest news accounts, there are exactly ten crews - five borrowed - working to resore power to 30,000 Lansing Board of Water and Light customers. By contrast, Consumers Energy is bringing in hundreds of workers from out of state to complete their repairs in a timely manner. Another Big Blue urban disaster.
Because I likely will be off-line for a while, Merry Christmas to our readers and hopefully I will be able to do a detailed analysis of the Spartan and Skunk Bear bowl games (short version in case I can't get online: MSU wins, U-M loses).
