Over the past few presidential elections, I'm always asked the same question: Did you watch the debate?
The answer is always: No. Why bother? Whatever is said will be spun and twisted and this year it's particularly bad.
Friday I knew that unless Barack Obama pulled out a hand puppet and began asking it for advice, he would be declared the winner. And so he has.
If Obama is elected, we will have had our first totally virtual presidency - that is a situation where the reality of the candidate was completely hidden from the electorate. Given that Obama is already using strong-arm tactics to silence dissent, I find the prospect of him using government agents to silence web sites (like this one) horrifying - but perhaps inevitable. Maybe the only way the West can vanquish the soft-core fascism of the modern Democrats is for it to taste it fully.
