The vile and loathsome Ted Rall has decided that widows are too tough to pick on, so he goes after the honored dead. (via Tim Blair, who really, really needs to add us to his blogroll)
The blogosphere has already hurled an vast array of invective against this petty little man and the Posse really has nothing particularly witty to add to that end.
Rather, we wish to make a contrast. Earlier today, the Posse had the opportunity to see President George W. Bush in person. He made a campaign swing through Michigan and we were among the fortunate ones to see him and the First Lady.
Needless to say, the audience response was phenomenal. Why? Simple: the man gets it.
He made a few jokes about John Kerry's "I proudly own and SUV that I really don't own" that plays particularly well in Michigan. But the core of his speech was about economic opportunity, promoting freedom abroad and making America and the world safer.
These are things Ted Rall has no understanding of.
Look at that cartoon. Notice the Nazi-like general. In Rall's mind, all of our military commanders are SS Obersturmbannfuhrers waiting to emerge.
Has Rall ever had an optimistic thought in his entire wretched life? Here is a man (and we use the term loosely) who does nothing but launch vile character assassinations against innocent widows and now legitimate war heroes.
For Rall, nothing is ever simple - except his enemies. That is all Rall and his ilk have: enemies.
They have no friends worthy of the name.
George W. Bush delivers a message of hope and outreach, of a country founded in freedom that remains the greatest hope of humanity. He stands for something, not against everything.
What is Rall's version of a perfect world, one where the UN is free to starve women and children while lining the pockets of dictators and bureaucrats?
As Glenn Reynolds says, he isn't for peace, or human rights, he is on the other side. He is against America and everything good it embodies.
He cowers behind an easel and attacks men he wouldn't dare insult to their faces - then prides himself on his "courage."
Contrast him to the self-effacing men and women who make this country actually work, who daily offer it protection and spend their own lives to keep it free.
These are the true heroes, the one George W. Bush is willing to fight to protect.
In a nutshell, Bush has vision. Rall has only bile.

I haven't seen anyone put it better. You look at Ted Rall and Rene Gonzalez and wonder who ejaculated into their brains this antipathy towards America and everyone who loves it.
